What time does the balloon fly?

The balloon flies at sunrise or two - three hours before sunset. Light, ideal ballooning winds often occur during these picturesque times.

What kind of weather is needed?

Ballooning is very weather dependent. We need less than 10 knots of wind (18 km/h) and no threat of storms. The balloon drifts as fast or as slow as the wind dictates. Ballooning is a year round sport, some of the best balloon flights can be made on a crisp, clear winter day.

How long is the flight?

The flight, on average, is one to one and a half hours long.

Can the balloon be steered?

Steering is not really possible in a balloon, since they drift along with the wind. However, wind directions can vary slightly at different altitudes, Allowing the balloonist some ability to alter direction.

How high does the balloon fly?

Most balloon flights are between 500 to 1500 feet above the ground.

How many can go in the balloon?

The size of hot air balloons vary. The balloons that we fly hold up to 6 passengers, plus the pilot.

What should passengers wear?

The temperature can vary depending on the time of year. We suggest wearing casual clothing and comfortable walking shoes or boots and be prepared with an extra jacket or sweater.

Who shouldn't fly?

People who have recently undergone surgery, those with sever hip or back problems, pregnant women, frail elderly people and small children should not fly in a balloon. If you are unsure, please check with your doctor.
